Huk Next Level Kryptek All Weather Jacket Review
This is an Contained Review (with Video Review) of the Huk Fishing "Foul Weather" Jacket.
Note: We were NOT compensated for this review.
To brainstorm, Huk Fishing is making a "big splash" in the angling world, as we seem to see them everywhere these days. From more and more pictures of weekend warrior anglers posting pics on Instagram wearing Huk gear, to the handful of pro anglers and fishing guides that they have cut sponsor deals with already, Huk has become a recognized name in this angling infinite in a very curt amount of time.
Since and then many people are out in that location sporting Huk gear, we decided to do a review on some of their most popular apparel.
Ironically, when we went to HukGear.com to purchase some gear, their most popular camo Operation line-fishing shirt was sold out. And so we purchased the Huk All Conditions/Foul Weather jacket instead, as they claim it is their toughest (aka "STRONGEST") piece of gear.
PROS of the Huk Angling Jacket
1. The Huk jacket is Waterproof
As you volition run into in the video review below (Luke sprays me at a close range with a water hose), this Huk foul weather jacket is completely waterproof (not to exist confused with h2o resistant). And if you have always been out on the h2o fishing and institute yourself defenseless in a rain storm while running hard to go to dry land, you know how critical information technology is to have a waterproof jacket.
Windbreakers and "h2o resistant" fishing jackets just won't do information technology.
2. The Huk line-fishing jacket is Windproof
Although this jacket feels very breathable (we volition talk about that next), it also felt every bit if no amount of wind was going to penetrate the crush of this jacket. And if you accept ever been out running in your gunkhole on a chilly morning to your favorite fishing spot, and so you lot know how critical information technology is to have a windproof jacket (once more, non to be confused with a "windbreaker").
three. This Huk jacket is lightweight
True to its merits, this jacket is lightweight. I own two other "foul weather / waterproof" jackets, and this Huk line-fishing jacket is lighter than both of them, without a contest. Non sure exactly what material they used to go along it then light, but information technology ironically feels more like a windbreaker in terms of weight.
4. The Visor / Hood comes off really easy
As you will see in the video below, the hood of this jacket comes off very hands (in seconds). It frustrates me when I have a jacket that has a permanent hood as yous don't always want that thing flapping around in the wind backside your head. And then bang-up job on not only making a jacket that has a removable hood, but also making it super quick to take off.
5. This Huk fishing jacket is breathable
I did this video review outside on a 86-degree twenty-four hours in Tampa, FL with the dominicus shining on me, and at no point did I always feel hot. The jacket felt very breathable (unlike the generic h2o-proof pants that I was wearing for the video review below), and it never felt viscid either.
6. The Huk jacket stale very fast
As you will see in the video beneath, I was pretty darn drenched after the up-close water spray. But this jacket dried very apace. Well at least the outer crush did. I noticed that the neoprene (wetsuit fabric) in the wrist surface area was nevertheless a bit damp after the full jacket had finished drying. Merely information technology was minimal, and the entire thing seemed completely dry within an 60 minutes of hanging it upwardly in the garage.
seven. Huk made a jacket that looks tough
The terminal positive note on this Huk fishing jacket is that it looks not bad (and tough). With the right mix of camo, black, and the bright yellow, this thing can plow heads while at the same time keeping you safety from the elements.
Cons of the Huk Angling Jacket
1. Expensive
I recall the only con that I had with this foul weather jacket is that it was pretty expensive ($224.99 on the Huk website). However, I did go check out competing brand "Foul Weather" jackets, and nigh of them seemed to be in this same price range.
I can presume simply like most line-fishing gear that is built to withstand saltwater and the elements, you usually get what you pay for…
I realize that not anybody tin chunk down $200+ for a fishing jacket, but if yous spend much time fishing, yous will probably need something like this at some point, and I don't think you will be disappointed with this Huk jacket.

Conclusion
Overall, great foul weather angling jacket.
Huk did a groovy job making it super light, like shooting fish in a barrel to fold upwards and store when you don't demand it, waterproof, windproof, and very breathable.
It fit well (and the sizes seemed to be correct in line with near of the leading brands), information technology looked great, and it dried very fast.
If you can afford a $200+ line-fishing jacket, y'all won't be disappointed with this one.
Smashing job Huk!
